Fast Prize Zoom sets new world record in West Texas Futurity trials

Fast Prize Zoom accelerated through her 300 yard West Texas Futurity trial in world

record time of 14.87 seconds on Friday at Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino.

 

The two-year-old filly by Shazoom rocketed to a two and one-half length victory under

jockey G.R. Carter. The debut winner earned a 105 speed index with no wind blowing.

Her clocking bested the former track and world record of 14.88 seconds previously

held by Famous Lane in 2006.

 

Fast Prize Zoom was one of three West Texas Futurity qualifiers trained by Wesley

Giles who won last year’s classic with Wild Six. Giles qualified with trial winners Fast Prize Zoom (14.870),

Reacorona (15.0480) and Feature Ten (15.086).

 

Trainer Blane Wood enjoyed another big day at Sunland by qualifying Cee Cee Otoole (15.126)

and Jodies Money Pop (15.129). 

 

2007 All American Futurity winning trainer Carl Draper qualified three finalists with

Jess Significant (14.989), Little Rebas Corona (15.079), Ls Separatist (15.102) and

Misty Blue Mercedes (15.158).Jess Significant remained unbeaten by winning her second

career start with ease. She is out of the world champion mare Significant Speed.

Jess Significant (14.989), Reacorona (15.048), Mr Perrys Wine (15.072), Little Rebas

Corona (15.079), Feature Ten (15.086), Ls Separatist (15.102), Cee Cee Otoole (15.126),

Jodys Money Pop (15.129) and Misty Blue Mercedes (15.158).
