Peppers Pride is Perfection!

If you’d never seen Peppers Pride race before, you’d have sworn after Saturday’s win in the Russell and Helen Foutz Distaff Handicap at SunRay Park and Casino, that she wore a red cape with a giant letter S, for Superhorse. That was the kind of effort needed to overcome nearly obstacle imaginable as Peppers Pride did indeed create racing history, winning the $75,000 event under jockey Carlos Madeira. In the process, Peppers Pride won her 16th consecutive race for trainer Joel Marr and owner Joseph Allen, a feat only accomplished by four other thoroughbreds in modern racing history.

Heartswideopen Has Last Work Before Ruidoso Derby Trials
RUIDOSO DOWNS, New Mexico (May 12, 2008) – Champion and All American Futurity winner Heartswideopen turned in her final serious preparation for her 2008 debut in the trials to the Grade 1, $300,000 (est.) Ruidoso Derby on May 24 when she worked 220 yards in :11.21 on Friday morning at Ruidoso Downs.

JESS ZOOMIN SETS NEW TRACK RECORD,  TOPS NIGHT TWO QUALIFIERS FOR HERITAGE PLACE FUTURITY
OKLAHOMA CITY – (May 10, 2008) The second night of trials for what will be the richest race in history at Remington Park were dominated by a strong northerly wind and an outstanding performance by Jess Zoomin.
An undefeated 2-year-old from the talent-laden barn of trainer Heath Taylor, Jess Zoomin won the second trial of eight on Saturday night, the second evening of heats to determine the field for the $1,140,000 Heritage Place Futurity. The colt covered 350 yards over a fast track in new track record time of :17.320. He earned and American Quarter Horse Association speed index of 106.

HALF THE FIELD SET FOR FIRST MILLION-DOLLAR REMINGTON PARK RACE, MISS SIN TACHA IS THE FASTEST QUALIFIER
OKLAHOMA CITY – (May 9, 2008) The first night of trials for the $1,140,000 Heritage Place Futurity was conducted Friday at Remington Park with Miss Sin Tacha putting up the top time over eight events.
Owned by Bob and Jerry Gaston of Seguin, Texas, Miss Sin Tacha made her career debut a winning one. Trained by Heath Taylor and ridden by G.R. Carter, Miss Sin Tacha handled 350 yards in :17.636 over the fast track.

RUNNER DREAMIN IS TOP QUALIFIER, HALF BROTHER ALSO SHINES IN KINDERGARTEN TRIALS
LOS ALAMITOS RACE COURSE, CYPRESS, CA...(May 4, 2008) EG High Desert Farms' Runner Dreamin posted the fastest qualifying time to the $340,150 Kindergarten Futurity after outdueling Prouddesertqueen by 3/4 lengths in the third to 10 trials on Saturday at Los Alamitos. Seventy-nine horses competed in the Kindergarten trials, with the horses with the 10 fastest times returning to compete in the Grade 1 final at 300 yards on May 17.
